Hello Patty and BVM crew,

I thought I would send you a couple pictures of my son Joshua with his new Bobcat.  We purchased it a few years ago and finally got around to finishing it.  The build was straight forward as always and the maiden flight required 1 click of trim.  These pictures were taken at the Mesa Jet rally  in Nov 2017.  My son, who got his waiver earlier in the summer, was super excited to attend his first jet meet as a turbine pilot.  Josh, who is 13,  flew it 6 times during the rally.  You can probably tell by his facial expression that he had a good time.  Just wanted to say thanks again for a great product.

Hello Patty & Bob

This is what the Hobby is all about, spending time at the flying field with your boys. Patrick (holding the jet and Klaus as his wing man) will be earning their turbine waivers on the Bobcat. We will be getting a new engine for the Balsa Bandit I flew back at Superman in 2002. That Jet has been around since Klaus was a toddler and he will be 18 this December. The love for model aviation has led him to choose a career in engineering/aerospace.

Patrick at age 12 has become one heck of a little modeler and is always building and designing models in the shop. Both are excellent R/C pilots and will have no problem getting up to turbine speed.

Thanks again for building such great products that last for generations.

Kelly, Klaus, & Patrick Rohrbach

Hi Bob

I have attached pictures of my latest BVM jet added to my BVM fleet of jets..  My new BobCat.  This jet was assembled by Danny Melnik (Demonaero) in Melbourne, Fl.  As you can see from the pictures, he has done an “amazing job”.  This jet is equipped with a Jets Munt turbine, all HV MKS brushless servos, Cortex Gyro, and all controlled by a Jeti system.

The maiden flight required a few clicks of up elevator and the jet was flying like an aero.  Even though I have a few Bandit MKII's and a couple Bandit Ultra Bandits, this has become my “go to Jet”..

I want to thank you, Patty, Heather, and the rest of the staff at BVM for an “EXCELLENT” product…   Looking forward to my new BVM jet (still under construction in your shop) and hopefully by the end of the year get a Kingcat..

With many thanks

Hello BVM,

Attached is a photo of me with my Bobcat ARF on our field in France. The Bobcat is an superb flier, I put the CG 20 mm behind the drilled holes. It is equipped with Jet Cat P100RX and is perfect for me, easy to take off and very easy to land.

I use no flaps on take-off, mine takes off on grass field. (Turbine spools up first with full wheel brakes activated.)

I purchased the model from Ali Machinchy.

Hi Patty, Heather and everybody at BVM

I already maiden my BobCat Composite on the 15th June, 2013 here in Malaysia after spending eight months building & constructing is mostly on my available free times during weekends.

The "cat" flew pretty well and the colorful navy scheme are very nice to look at on the ground and in the air. The Taiwan made KingTech K80 only required 1/4 throttle for level flight.

Generally, all major parts are perfectly made and I only required a bit of cutting the retracts opening, sanding and applying glue and to install equipments such as engine, servo,push-rod, air and fuel hose and retracts.

I enclosed a picture of mine on maiden day and are satisfied with this high quality piece of engineering and are worth what I paid for.

Best regards.

Hi Patty.
I maiden my Bobcat yesterday and the BVM jet was flying as if on rails. The Bobcat is a very precise and easy to fly airplane. I wanted a different paint scheme on my jet so I pattern my Bobcat after the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. The Red, White and Blue paint job against the sky makes it a high visibility R/C jet. Pablo Fernandez came out to help me and we had a great time. Coincidentally, Ed Ford was also there flying his brand new Kingcat for the first time. He finished his jet the night before and came out to enjoy the beautiful day. I believe that was a first....2 BVM maiden flights within 10 minutes at Markham park, Miami, Fl. Please say Hi to Bob and tell him that my new BVM P-80 Shooting Star should be ready in two weeks.

I'm happy to report that I am now the happy owner of a BVM BOBCAT here in The Netherlands.  After a three month build today was the maiden flight of the Bobcat.  With the first flight dialing the bobcat in.  The second flight it was flying on rails.  What a shear joy to fly.  Power is from a P80SE and servo's used was al jr servo's as per manual.  It's the first BVM kit I have built and the manual is the best I have seen .

Hello Heather,
I thought I would send you a few photos taken by Steve Woods of my Bobcat composite for your gallery . . . . . as I am so happy with it!! It is pushed along quite nicely with a Jetcat P70/kerostart which I think compliments this model very well, it has JR DSX9 for guidance via all JR digital servos and is equipped with Dreamworks trailing link main legs, the kit was bought from Al's Hobbies Jet centre. It has now had 27 flights since the maiden flight on April 23 at the Predannack Naval air station and it has proved to be a versatile sport jet as I have been flying it from grass club strips which have not been particularly 'jet friendly' which it has handled with ease and also tarmac runways, it looks great at speed and low down screaming up the runway! clocked up another 5 flights with it at the Classic jets meeting held at Abingdon on June 26, it was flying with many other Bobcats present and is a popular model for good reason!

Another great BVM sport jet

Hello everyone,
I have been remiss in not writing you earlier about my new BVM BobCat ARF. I must say I am really enjoying the plane. It was very easy to build, rig and test fly. Once again you have proven that your engineering capability is superb. By “engineering capability”, I am not just referring to product design and validation, but I am also referring to component sourcing, quality control and (especially) user documentation. The user documentation (plans, manuals, etc) and the beautiful packaging really add to that great “out of the box” experience I enjoy when I open a BVM product. It really helps confirm that I made a wise buying decision. It is also a great plane for a busy person as I can toss it in the car and when I get to the field I am airborne in about 10-15 minutes. That means a lot to someone short on time (2 kids!).  Here are some flight pictures (courtesy “Smokin” Joe McBride). I am just starting to experiment with smoke (I use a JetCat smoke pump and BVM external smoke tank) but so far I am having fun.

Thanks again and I hope to see you all soon!

Regards,
Matt Carroll

Hi Bob, Just thought I would shoot you a mail of my new Bobcat ARF.  This is my 4th Bobcat in a row, and flies just as well as the three before it.
The photo was taken at the recent Jets over Dubai where I picked up a Sport Jet award. The Bobcat is perfect for me as I can pack it into a small box and take it as airline luggage. Unpack it and put on a impressive display with a simple, reliable model that always gets plenty of attention wherever it shows.
Thanks again for another great product.

Bob,

After 6 flights on my new Bobcat, I felt compelled to write a note to tell you how impressed I am.  I can't think of any other jet that combines all the aspects of the Bobcat.  Simple to set up, Fast and Aerobatic yet very stable and lands so slow.  What a great design and the quality can't be touched.  I also wanted to tell you what an outstanding job Dustin did.  He went far beyond my expectations and I have to say what a great benefit he must be to your company.  Looking forward to that new Bandit in the matching scheme.

Thanks,
Steve Burnett

Keith Seivers inspired this "Navy Trainer" scheme and ordered 3 identical Bobcats for himself and his fellow jet jockeys.  Perhaps we will see an air show routine soon!

Composite Bobcat photos

Hey Guys,

I picked up a new Composite BobCat at Florida Jets earlier this year and finally have it completed.  The BobCat was a blast to build and became a family project with my wife Susan and 3 year old daughter Isabella at my side each evening helping with sanding, attaching servos and paint/prep work, assembling bombs, etc. until our BobCat named "Little Izzy" was finished. We decided that a Desert Camo Scheme would help with visibility and it certainly does!  It is fitted with a JetCat P-70 and top speed is nearly 190mph. We installed a centerline smoke tank for smoking up the skies and a BVM Bomb drop system. It also has many scale goodies such as Pro-Mark Graphics, a scale cockpit, pitot tubes, refueling probe, antennas and much more!  It truly flies like a trainer even with the additional 'external' weight. We are having so much fun with it and get many compliments at every event we attend.  I highly recommend this aircraft to anyone wishing to step into jets after mastering a fast prop plane.

Sincerely,
Patrick Frost

Hello Patty,
I am very pleased to inform you that we now have another very happy BVM supporter here in Dubai.  Lee Cox has recently purchased a BobCat and is extremely pleased with the whole package.  The BobCat was built by Leon Smith and flight tested by myself.  Lee is using JR equipment throughout and a JetCat P-70 turbine.  So far the model has had three flights and Lee is coping very well; we are currently using the P-Link training system with our JR PCM 10X radios.  Congratulations to Lee.
