For Sabre Jets Electric powered jets
can benefit from lighter weight, yet sturdy undercarriage components.
So, BVM is now producing light weight wheels/tires that can also
utilize the patented BVM "O" Ring brake system.
To equip a model such
as the BVM Sabre Jet ARF (or earlier 60" Sabres) we offer the main
wheels that weigh 1.5 oz each and accept the BVM Brake Hubs. We
adapted a 2.75" Pro-Lite wheel by drilling the hole for a 3/16" axle and
painting the hub aluminum. This V-LiteTM wheel set saves 4oz over the original BVM Jet wheels.
If you are flying from a paved runway you will want to
add these "O" Ring brake hubs.

For the Electra Jet
Electra Jets that utilize the "Air Blue" pneumatic
retracts, can now be equipped with these 2.4" diameter mains and 2 1/4" nose
wheel.
Since the pneumatic system is already in the model, it
is very simple to add the BVM "O" Ring drums and be able to stop short if
the need arises.
The main wheels and tires weigh just 1.1 ounces each for a
total weight savings of 3 ounces.
