Available Now! “Electra” Turbine Version |
|
Since the Electra was first introduced we have had some requests for a turbine powered version. We listened, and our response will be available in August ’08.
The Electra is a light weight, conveniently sized, and aerodynamically excellent flying machine. It is a great airframe for the many 12-15 lb. thrust turbine engines that are available.
This new offering will include turbine Inlets, 1.9 liter fuel tanks, ByPass and tailpipe. BVM is also introducing an all new compact pneumatic landing gear system with BVM DuroStruts, wheels, and brakes to compliment the package. A typical BVM instruction package will allow you to get it all together.
Transition
For some modelers, the goal of flying the EVF Electra is to gain enough jet flying experience to get an AMA Turbine Waiver. Now, you can accomplish that goal using just one airframe. The kit or ARF version can now be transformed from EVF to turbine power.
Compact Transport

At 60” wing span and 67” length, the Electra will fit into most midsize SUV’s like this Mazda Tribute with the wings attached. Take a few minutes to remove the wings and you could get 3 of them into the same vehicle.
Since the Electra is essentially a down sized “Bandit”, we are confident that it will enjoy a similar reputation of success as a great flying and landing turbine powered sport jet.
