High Speed and Glue Joints
February 2008

As jet pilots we enjoy high speed fly-bys and pulling G's.  And, as jet pilots should know, the dynamic forces on a model traveling 200+ mph are extreme and it's only held together by glue.

So, diligence and preventative maintenance are absolutely required.  Improper handling, i.e. excessive pinching a wing or stab, whacking a leading edge on a doorway, improper trailer transport, a rough bouncy landing, etc., etc. can fracture critical glue joints.

If you are experienced enough to be a jet pilot, you should also be experienced enough and responsible for checking all critical glue joints and repairing before the next flight.
