| The BVM U.A.T. has
been in production for many years with thousands in the field. It is the product
that most turbine engine manufactures recommend for use
with their powerplants. Why? Because the BVM U.A.T.'s have a reputation for flawless
air bubble free performance. Occasionally, you
will see some internet chat challenging the capability of the BVM U.A.T.. Here is the
simple truth. We have used the U.A.T. with 60#
thrust engines with flawless
results. The quality control of the BVM product is
exceptional. In every instance, where some one
thinks the U.A.T. is the reason for their flame-out, it
is not the case. The problem is usually upstream
of the U.A.T., i.e. a restriction or air/fuel leak in
the fuel tanks, tubing, or connectors.
Since the U.A.T.'s function is to trap air bubbles before they get
to the engine, it is important that it is located in the
model where it can be viewed during a test run-up.
You can view the fuel level through its
translucent bottle which is a very important feature.
So, if your model fuel system is new, or has been dormant for a
long period of time, or totally drained for transport,
perform a high power run up and observe the U.A.T..
If
the fuel level remains constant in the U.A.T. and the
header tank (if used), the saddle tanks
burn down equally, and no air bubbles appear in the
fuel line going into the engine, the fuel supply system
is functioning properly.
A free flowing fuel system will not cause the sides of
the U.A.T. to "suck-in" excessively. See
Ultra Bandit Addendums. If any of the above items is not correct, do not attempt
to fly until the problem is located and corrected.
The BVM U.A.T. requires a twice a year check on the security of the
blue knurled "fuel out" fitting and the plastic bottle
cap. Just snug tighten these two fittings for reliable operation.
As with all BVM products, the U.A.T. comes with
instructions on how to install and use.
Sometimes the hype on the internet about
a product can lead you
into changing what has been proven to work for several
years. Just be sure you are not risking your
model.
Should you get a load of contaminated fuel, return the U.A.T. to
BVM for service.
